Dear Division of Water Resources,
I am a native Greensboro resident and love my home of North Carolina. That is why I strongly encourage NCDEQ to
reject the Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC's 401 Water Quality Certification application. I'm worried about the damage it
could cause to our environment and our waterways.
This pipeline construction will likely harm aquatic life and habitats, smothering spawning beds and fish eggs. These
spawning and nursery areas are essential to endangered species such as the Atlantic sturgeon and the Shortnose
sturgeon, and home to the Neuse River Waterdog, Carolina Madtom, and several other species of concern in North
Carolina.
For these reasons, I urge you to reject the 401 Water Quality Certification application from Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Samantha Derr
