Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: The existing conditions for this site are bottomland hardwood forest moving up to dry oak hickory forest. The only rare species in this area are found in the Eno River system and are not expected to be impacted by this project. 3b. Attach an 8 1/2 x 11 excerpt from the most recent version of the USGS topographic map indicating the location of the site 3c. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams(intermittent and perennial)on the property: 146015' per USGS Mapping 3e. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The purpose of the proposed project is to create a new connector trail that allows campground users into the rest of the park when there is a flooding event. In the past the existing trail which is located close to a different creek becomes flooded and strands campers. This route will avoid most of the flood prone areas and will feature only one crossing. 3f. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: The proposed trail will be approximately .6 miles long and be natural trail surface. There is one stream crossing which will feature a small bank to bank bridge. The overall grade of the trail will be less than 5%with appropriate outslope and drainage features to eliminate standing water and runoff issues. 4.
