I'm worried about the damage it could cause to our environment and our waterways. I live in coastal North Carolina, and we have already had our drinking water contaminated by Genex, to the point it has caused disease and death. We can't drink our tap water and now you want to put a pipeline through our state! This will definitely have a negative effect on our water and the aquatic life that many depend on for their livelihood. They feed their children, but their clothes and provide seafood for our tourism. Putting a pipeline has the potential for catastrophic damage to the water, aquatic life, tourism and the livelihoods of millions of people. Please don't ruin our state, we love it here. The construction of the pipeline could harm aquatic life and habitats, smothering spawning beds and fish eggs. These spawning and nursery areas are essential to endangered species such as the Atlantic sturgeon and the Shortnose sturgeon, and home to the Neuse River Waterdog, Carolina Madtom, and several other species of concern in North Carolina. For these reasons, I urge you to reject the 401 Water Quality Certification application from Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC. Thank you. Sincerely, Melissa Mello 8000 Masonboro Sound Rd Wilmington, NC 28409 1
