I'm worried about the damage it could cause to our environment and our waterways. The construction of the pipeline could harm aquatic life and habitats, smothering spawning beds and fish eggs. These spawning and nursery areas are essential to endangered species such as the Atlantic sturgeon and the Shortnose sturgeon, and home to the Neuse River Waterdog, Carolina Madtom, and several other species of concern in North Carolina. As a frequent visitor of the Blue Ridge in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virigina, I would like to see this region protected. Camping, hiking, and mountain biking along the Blue Ridge are nonpareiled in America. For these reasons, I urge you to reject the 401 Water Quality Certification application from Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC. Thank you. Sincerely, Barry Smith 120 Hampton Circle Salisbury, NC 28144 1
