Dear Division of Water Resources,
I hope that NCDEQ will reject the Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC's 401 Water Quality Certification application. I'm worried
about the damage it could cause to our environment and our waterways.
The construction of the pipeline could harm aquatic life and habitats, smothering spawning beds and fish eggs. These
spawning and nursery areas are essential to endangered species such as the Atlantic sturgeon and the Shortnose
sturgeon, and home to the Neuse River Waterdog, Carolina Madtom, and several other species of concern in North
Carolina.
For these reasons, I urge you to reject the 401 Water Quality Certification application from Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC.
I think using wind power is what we should focus on using to help save the environment and North Carolina. We have
plenty of wind, why not harness it and put it to good use, instead of destroying the land?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Joyce Mostard
