More information is needed to determine if the soils are appropriate for the
proposed infiltration basin. The attached soils report does not include a boring at
the proposed location of the infiltration basin to show the level of the seasonal
high water table (SHWT). In addition, please provide infiltration test data on the
soils in the vicinity of the proposed infiltration basin. If there is a high SHWT or
if the soils do not exhibit appropriate infiltration rates, then you must provide
another type of BMP that is appropriate for the site conditions.
2. If the soils data shows that the infiltration basin will work in the proposed
location, then please address the following issues:
a. Volume in excess of the treatment volume must bypass the device. Please
provide a flow splitter device prior to the stormwater entering the
infiltration basin.
b. Stormwater volume in excess of the treatment volume must be evenly
distributed across a minimum 30-foot long vegetated filter strip.
c. A minimum of one observation well must be provided.
3. Please provide a permanent deed restriction that will prevent any future
development on the eastern undeveloped portion of this property that has been
classified as "low density."
