The application for 401 Water Quality Certification for the ACP doesn't include enough details about which streams would be jeopardized by trenching, cofferdams, or in-stream blasting. Without site-specific details, it's impossible to know what the water quality impacts would be. The application hasn't shown that the Atlantic Coast Pipeline won't pollute our waterways. This project would be very expensive to taxpayers (who would see rate increases to finance it), this pipeline would affect forests, wildlife habitats, wetlands, and communities of color, including the Lumbee tribe here in Pembroke, even if that damage is temporary or “mitigated,” as required. Please carefully consider this application as you would if your own two-year-old daughter's drinking water depended on it. v/r, Brittany Sandefur 1
