Dear Division of Water Resources,
I am a Texas native with deep familiarity with the Gulf coast. Having seen the Gulf coast tragically damaged by the BP oil
spill, with inadequate efforts on the part of BP to compensate those affected, I cannot place trust in the fossil fuel
industry not to take its profits at the expense of citizens at large. With pipelines as well as drilling rigs, spills and other
accidents due to human error must be regarded as possible, and eventually likely. I am therefore strongly opposed to
any pipeline traversing land where waterways may be affected.
The application for 401 Water Quality Certification for the ACP doesn't include enough details about which streams
would be jeopardized by trenching, cofferdams, or in-stream blasting. Without site-specific details, it's impossible to
know what the water quality impacts would be.
The application hasn't shown that the Atlantic Coast Pipeline won't pollute our waterways. Please reject this application.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Karen Hodges
