The construction of the pipeline would harm nearly 37,000 feet of 326 waterbodies and at least 467.7 acres of valuable wetlands. Our wetlands, streams, and rivers are an important part of our heritage and this pipeline could put them in danger. It's also concerning to me that the application put forward by Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC doesn’t provide enough information for DEQ to make a sound decision on whether or not to move forward with the pipeline. Additionally, Duke Energy has a deplorable record for containing their waste products (coal ash) and has recently (within the last 5 years) been responsible for the coal ash spills which lead to the contamination of the multiple waterways throughout North Carolina. And then they intend to pass the costs of their negligence on to us in their request to raise rates this year. Supporting irresponsible and deplorable corporations and environmentally harmful industries is not only counter- intuitive to our future, it is morally reprehensible. I respectfully ask that DEQ reject the application and the pipeline all together. Thank you. Sincerely, Christopher Bledsoe 405 SITTON PL JACKSONVILLE, NC 28546 1
