The threat of global warming is real and its effects are already being felt across the states. This project will cross three states, acres of wetlands and countless streams and other bodies of water. I'm very concerned about the Atlantic Coast Pipeline's 401 Water Quality Certification application. In it, they claim that they'll restore waterbodies and wetlands back to being healthy. However, the applicant does not list any specific plans to measure or monitor the waterways they say would be impacted. Protecting our waterways is important to me and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline could put them in jeopardy. There are also a number of under sreved communities that would be put at risk by this project. Too often poorer communities of color bare the brunt of envoronmental and health coasts without benefit. Please reject the application from the Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC because it does not meet my and DEQ's standards of protecting our waterways. It only perpetuates further environmental degradation and climate disaster and will disproportionately affect at risk communities. No to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. Thank you.
