In accordance with the requirements of Part III of NPDES wastewater permit NC0004961, Duke Energy is
hereby providing 90day notice of closure for OUtfaI1002A, Yard Sump Overflows, at Riverbend Station in Gaston
County, NC
There is currently no flow to Yard Sump Outfall 002A.
All storm water for this drainage area has been rerouted to NPDES Stormwater Outfall SWO18
(NCS000549) in accordance to NCDEQ letter received 6/20/2016. The waste water (septic system) that
was flowing to this yard sump has been permanently grouted and is currently being pumped and
removed from the site on a weekly basis
The filet and outlet for the Yard Sump System was abandoned on November 9, 2016 The enclosure will
subsequently be cleaned and transported off site for proper disposal.
