This correspondence is in reference to the document entitled, Research Plan for Experimental
Hydrologic Manipulations of Timberlake Farm, submitted by Dr. Martin Doyle (enclosed). This
research will be undertaken at the Timberlake Farm property of the Great Dismal Swamp
Restoration Bank located south of U.S. 64, east of Columbia, in Tyrrell County, North Carolina.
The mitigation bank review team (MBRT) has completed its review of the subject document
and accepts the research plan as proposed. Provided that the research is conducted according to
the plan, the success criteria and timing of mitigation credit release will not be changed. You
must coordinate any modifications to the research plan with the MBRT prior to implementation.
Additionally, as there is great interest in the work you are undertaking, please notify me in
advance of the experiments to provide the MBRT with an opportunity to schedule a site visit to
observe the work.
