Dear Division of Water Resources,
I am writing to let you know that I'm opposed to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and urge you to reject their 401 Water
Quality Certification application.
The application submitted by the Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC doesn't provide enough information on the cumulative
water quality impacts of past, present, and reasonably foreseeable projects related to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
In addition, the energy corporations in favor of the ACP falsely claim to state that it will generate a significant number of
permanent, full-time jobs for North Carolinians. The reality is that there will be limited temporary employment during
the pipeline's construction, then extremely few jobs after that for the pipeline's maintenance. All in all, the ACP is a
thoughtless and unnecessary project that would potentially have a terrible impact on North Carolina environments.
I respectfully ask that DEQ reject the application.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jane Haladay
