Dear Division of Water Resources,
I am writing to let you know that I'm opposed to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and urge you to reject their 401 Water
Quality Certification application.
The application submitted by the Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC doesn't provide enough information on the cumulative
water quality impacts of past, present, and reasonably foreseeable projects related to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
There is more than enough evidence, both nationwide and globally, that pipelines are a risk to communities, waterways
and citizens. All of them, inevitably, leak and pour toxins into the environment. The list of illnesses this causes, the
pollution and clean up that goes on for years afterward and never mitigates the initial harm, and the damage to local
economies and people's health should all be enough for you to reject this pipeline and everything involved in its building
and use.
I respectfully ask that DEQ reject the application.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Lori Dean
