This pipeline stretches across privately owned land, public water sources, and land ceded to Native groups; none of these populations are wholly, nor even moderately, in favor of this project. I ask you to consider the resistence brought to bear on the Dakota Access Pipeline, the media fallout, and the after-effects; please consider the leaks (of which everyone was warned) that resulted from that project. Citizens of ours already suffer from untenable living conditions as a direct result of undrinkable water, courtesy of Duke. Nothing has been done to protect them, and this shows us how little we can place our faith in our governing bodies. Please show us that our health and sovereignty as citizens of this beautiful state mean more to you that profits; please prove that carcinogenic water and dying people are a greater concern than whatever you're given to line your pockets. Sincerely, Eleanor Darrell Mars Hill, NC 1
