Subject:ACP
I am opposed to the construction of the ACP because of its harm to our environment's water quality, land
erosion, marine life, and potential danger to terrorist actions. In 2017 gas pipelines burst spilling toxic fumes in
Alabama and other areas. In the Dakotas, the life expectancy of the residents who live there is less than the
average life span of citizens in other areas of the United States due to environmental air and water quality
ratings.
In addition, the one time fee proposed to pay landowners will not adequately compensate them for the trillions
in profits to be made by Duke Energy; subsequently, nor will accidents along the pipeline that may threatened
the landowners personal and real property adequately insure just compensation.
All landowners should share in the profits from the gas pipeline since there would be no profits unless
landowners allow access. There are other options that would protect the environment and safeguard land
erosion threats, marine life and safety of water for crops and consumption.
For this reason I voice my concerns for life and environment over desire for profits. Given the record of who
will pay for clean up of toxic Coal Ash waste based on Duke Energy's current position, it is important to value
life and healthy existence over profit margins for gas that may be shipped to foreign ports as a priority.
