Dear Ms. Higgins,

North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality

RE: Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) 401 Permit Application

The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will be good for our communities, our economy, and our environment. Moving to
more environmentally friendly sources of energy is vital for North Carolina, our region and our country. And
the best way to do that is by approving the ACP.

The ACP will transport natural gas, which is already a much cleaner form of energy than older forms North
Carolina has used for decades. And natural gas is an important partner fuel to renewables such as solar and
wind. It is a natural complement for when the sun isn’t shining or the wind is not blowing.

The gas transported by the ACP will be used to generate cleaner electricity to heat homes and power new
industries creating Americans jobs. I urge you to approve the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

A copy of this letter will be sent to my local, state and federal elected officials.
