Dear Ms. Beckwith:
On June 23, 2008, the Metropolitan Sewerage District received the above referenced NW 12
approval from your office. Since that time, MSD has been in the process of obtaining other agency
approvals needed for the project, including a Trout Buffer Variance from NCDENR Land Quality for
the work near Reems Creek. As part of that permit approval, MSD had to revise the sewer
alignment in one area.
The subject revision resulted in a significant portion of the proposed sewer being located further
away from Reems Creek than first planned. With that being said, MSD still wanted the US ACOE,
NC DWQ, and NC WRC to be aware of the scope change. For your file, enclosed you will find a
copy of our plan sheet (3 of 11) which shows the changes made. The area in question is the same
area covered by Sites #1 and #2 on the drawings previously submitted to you. Site #1 on those
drawings has now been completely eliminated and Site # 2 has been slightly modified.
