The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) 401 Oversight and Express Review Permitting Unit has reviewed
the Year 4 (2007) monitoring results for the above-referenced site. Our comments reflect those provided
after our site visit in February 2008:
• The Mayfaire mitigation project is easily meeting hydrology success criteria, with long duration
inundation or saturation throughout Area C. The project is released from further hydrology
monitoring.
• Supplemental planting of obligate and FACW species occurred in 2007 in order to increase
density and diversity of woody vegetation in Area C. DWQ recommends monitoring vegetation
only in this area during the 2008 growing season in order to verify that the trees and shrubs have
become established.
Human disturbances within the conservation easement were noted at the site visit. Please
document the actions that have been taken to prevent easement infringement in the future.
