You are granted a two year extension to complete filling of the open water area (pit) in order to implement the approved wetland restoration plan. You must notify the Division when the pit is filled and restoration efforts begin. I will add this information to your file. Weve been preparing for that and this whole thing totally slipped my mind. Sometime around July 2017 the time allotment for filling in this 5 acre back pit at the mine ran out. I would like to request a two year extension. I believe my mining permit runs until about 2023 so this extension would not require any additional permitting, I just need more time to finish the job. Mr. Novak from the washington DENR branch inspected our mine last summer and found no significant violations or issues. Work is going well, and progress is being made. I greatly underestimated the amount of material it would take to fill this hole. The previous owner had excavated deeper than I anticipated in the front portion, marked in orange. The area towards the back is shallower and should go faster. I am attaching a satellite picture that I have edited to show you the approximate current boundaries of the pit as of 8/1/17. If you need any additional information for your files, just ask me and I will send it. I can also send you a certified physical copy of this if you require it. Please respond to this email and let me know what, if anything, I need to do next to file this extension. This email address is a good way to reach me; you can also call my phone number listed at the bottom. I can send you a certified physical copy of of this letter if you require it. Thanks!
