Sludge is settled and held in (2) waste lagoons until lagoons reach capacity. Orange -

Raw water is treated with alum, polymer, potassium permanganate, and caustic as needed
for pH adjustment for proper coagulation. Water is then settled in conventional
sedimentation basin, mixed with a portion of well water at sed basin outlet, then filtered.
Chlorine is added before and after the filters.
8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the
facility:
All waste water is generated by filter backwash and filter rewash. All waste water is treated
with 2.5 to 3.0 mg/L of calcium thiosulfate for de -chlorination, then settled in primary
and secondary lagoons before discharge.
