NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE
PROPOSED REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE NO 36 OVER THE TAR RIVER ON
SIMS BRIDGE ROAD (SR 1003)
TIP Project No B-4514

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold the
above Citizens Informational Workshop on Thursday, October 16, 2008, between
the hours of 5 00 PM and 7 00 PM in the Mitchner's Crossroad Firehouse,
2964 West River Road, Franklinton, 27525
Interested individuals may attend this informal workshop at their
convenience during the above stated hours Department of Transportation
representatives will display maps and will be available to answer questions and
receive comments from the public There will be no formal presentation
This project calls for replacing the structurally deficient Bridge Number 36
in Franklin County with a new structure The bridge crosses over the Tar River
on Sims Bridge Road (SR 1003) northwest of Louisburg, NC The project
proposes to replace the bridge at the same location and use an offsite detour to
reroute traffic The proposed detour follows Sims Bridge Road (SR 1003),
Possum Rd (SR 1234), West River Road (SR 1211), US 401, and Dyking Road
(SR 1235) for a total distance of 14 miles NCDOT apologizes for any
inconveniences and will work to minimize construction time Proposed
improvements may require additional right of way
