The US Army Corps of Engineers has modified The Regional General Permit 1980000291
(Action ID SAW-2013-01039) issued to NCDOT on December 9, 2014 for dune
construction activities adjacent to New Inlet in Dare County, North Carolina. The permit
is modified to allow the construction of a 370 foot long protective dune on the north
side of New Inlet as shown on the information provided by NCDOT on January 6, 2015. .
Construction of the proposed project will result in the loss of 0.17 acres of jurisdictional
waters. The Special Use Permit issued by ARNWR has been modified and USFWS has
determined that the project will not adversely effect any threatened or endangered
species. Please contact me if you have any questions.
