Let's leave well enough alone. It's my determination that further floodplain bench work is not needed, other than seeding with a native riparian mix as discussed. If you and Dave agree that the material there is stable and will stay there during high flows then I am ok with not installing them. If Dave doesn't get a warm and fuzzy after going out to look at it, I think the best bet is to go ahead and install the benches per the permitted plans. Vernon in Rowan) is wrapping up work. The floodplain benches weren't installed per plan but the area has flooded frequently and deposited natural floodplain material which is doing a good job at maintaining the stream width. I've attached a few pictures of what it looks like today. Pictures 3627 and 3628 are upstream of the culvert and 3629 is downstream. Do you have any objections to us leaving it as is? Please let me know something by Friday, so they can wrap things up. Thanks.
