This letter is being sent to you because you have elected or are eligible to receive a whole home
water filtration treatment system from Duke Energy.
According to the Coal Ash Management Act, Session Law 2016-95 or CAMA, Duke Energy
must establish as soon as practicable, but no later than Oct. 15, 2018, permanent replacement
water supplies for each household that has a drinking water supply well located within the one-
half mile radius of the compliance boundary of a coal ash pond.
These water filtration systems will ensure your drinking water meets all state and federal standards
for coal ash constituents.
Enclosed you will find the required performance standards that your filtration system must meet,
along with some frequently asked questions that will assist you in understanding its installation
and maintenance.
Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions at (919) 807-6338.
Sincerely,
S. Jay Z erman
