Please find attached the first quarterly monitoring report for the above -referenced
project. The stream is performing as designed and the buffer areas are developing very
well. In spite of unusually wet weather in April and May, including long duration, intense
rainfall events, there have been very few project area maintenance requirements in the
aftermath of the storms. I have also included rainfall data for the reporting period.
I will send you the next quarterly monitoring report sometime during the first week of
October.

Inspection Observations and Photographs
April 3, 2017 — Construction phase of channel relocation completed. Riffles installed and bank
slopes graded/matting installation completed.
April 12, 2017 — Buffer areas seeded and live stakes planted.
April 19, 2017 — Stream construction and buffer area plantings certified by design engineer as
compliant with approved construction plans.
April 21, 2017 — Site inspection and minor repairs made to matting. (Additional anchoring of
mat and repair of loose anchor stakes damaged during buffer planting).
April 22, 23, 24, 2017 — Heavy Rains. See photographs. Site appears to have experienced a
bankful event.
April 26, 2017 — Site inspection after significant rainfall. Buffer and stream areas in very good
condition. Stabilization and grade control structures are functioning properly.
Channel dimensions remain consistent with design. Some areas of matting
require repair to ensure contact with the bank.
MONTHLYRAINFALL TOTAL = 4.8 inches NORMAL RAINFALL TOTAL = 3.72 inches

Inspection and Observations
May 10, 2017 — Site inspection and review of maintenance requirements with field personnel.
Re -stake matting in certain areas. Inspection of buffer areas.
May 22, 23 & 24 2017 — Three days of rainfall greater than 1/2" each day. Site inspected on
May 24, 2017. Matting in good condition and no issues noted.
May 30, 2017 — Site inspection. No issues noted; however, live stakes are growing and seeded
buffer areas are beginning to vegetate. Other plantings are doing well.
MONTHLY RAINFALL TOTAL= 5.66 inches NORMAL RAINFALL TOTAL = 3.21 inches
May was an unusually wet month; however, the stream and buffer areas held up very well during
several intense rainfall events.
June, 2017
Inspection Observations & Photog=raphs
June 6, 2017 — Site inspection after 1.4" rainfall event. Vegetation exhibits aggressive growth. No
stream or buffer area issues noted. Small fish observed in water as well as insects
on stream banks and birds in trees and large bushes. Project safety
fence damaged by deer or vandals. Repairs to be scheduled for week of June 12.
June 14, 2017 — Safety fence repair completed. Matting modified in some areas to allow for
protrusion of live stake stems. Loose matting stakes re -set.
MONTHLY RAINFALL TOTAL=4.28 INCHES -NORMAL RAINFALL TOTAL=4.14 INCHES
