Subject: Proposed Shellfish Lease - Brian Scall - Dare County
Marla,
After review of the proposed lease, there appears to be a potential shallow bottom impact and potential SAV habitat
due to the limited water depth at low tide. This area of Hatteras Inlet is designated as SA-HQW, and there is potential
for displacement of the shallow bottom area from the use of vessels accessing the lease.
If the US Army Corps of Engineers issues NW 48 for this proposal, this will require written approval under our General
Certification No. 4091 http://edocs.deg.nc.gov/WaterResources/0/doc/493433/Page1.aspx . The application fee will be
$240 once the lease is approved and prior to issuance of the 401 approval letter. Please have the applicant include the
DWR project # 20170758 on the check since they will be received separate from this application.
