The pond is a bit under one acre in size and is sited in a low-density residential subdivision. The pond is over 30 years old

3d. Explain the purpose of the proposed project:
The standpipe and dam of the pond were damaged by Hurricane Matthew and the 8 inch rainfall incident in late April. The
standpipe must be replaced and fill lost on the downstream side of the dam replaced and reconsolidated.
3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used:
The old steel 24" diameter standpipe is replaced with an 18' diameter double-walled plastic standpipe. The new standpipe
will conduct water to the foot of the downstream side of the dam rather than allowing it fall some feet from the end of a
supended pipe, as the old standpipe did. The damage to the downstream side of the dam is repaired and the existing
emergency spillway widened and improved. The project required two small trac-hoes and dump trucks to haul fill.
Tamping machines are also used. The project requires that the pond level be lowered by siphon approximately 2 feet
from current and 4 feet from normal surface elevation.
