Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 3000 Year: 2013 Existin : 3000 Year: 2013 General Project Narrative: This project consists of replacing bridge 770059 on SR 1924 (Barker Ten Mile Road) over Big Marsh Swamp in Robeson County, as well as improvements to the roadway (Description of Minimization of Water approaches on each side of the bridge. The bridge replacement and associated roadway improvements have been designed to minimize increases in impervious surface area Quality Impacts) and maintain existing drainage patterns. No deck drains are proposed for the replacement bridge, instead deck drainage will be routed to grate inlets at each end of the bridge and discharged to a riprap outlet pads on the east and west sides of the project. The bridge span arrangement has been designed to avoid piers in surface waters and erosion control practices have been designed to minimze impacts to surface waters and wetlands. There are no existing ditches along any quadrant of the bridge approaches and as such no new ditches are proposed. Proposed utility pole relocations are outside the wetlands area with only temporary hand clearing impacts for guy-wire anchors anticipated.
