RE Refinement of CAMA Mayor Development Permit No 20-07 (TIP No R-2245)
Second Bridge to Oak Island, Brunswick County
Dear Mr Herndon
This letter is in response to your request dated May 30, 2008 requesting a modification to
CAMA Mayor Permit No 20-07 for authorization to stabilize the Right-of-Way with rip rap on
the North side of the AIWW In your request you indicate that due to the sandy composition of
the shoreline, matting and natural vegetation will not adequately stabilize the shoreline under and
adjacent to the bridge landing
Your request proposes to modify the permit to allow for the backfilling the existing access road
cut at a 2 7 1 or flatter slope with 4 1 side slopes The proposal also includes placing rip rap
landward of the existing temporary sheet pile bulkhead up to Sta 61+06 (elevation 15ft)
This Letter of Refinement authorizes the construction of the requested earth work and rip rap
placement adjacent to the AIWW within the project Right-of-Way as described in your request
letter dated May 30, 2008, and as shown in five 8 5" x 11" drawings (dated May 30, 2008) This
letter shall be attached to the original of amended CAMA Permit No 20-07, which was issued on
February 23, 2007 and all documents must be readily available on site when a DCM
representative inspects the project for compliance All conditions and stipulations of the active
permit remain in force unless altered herein
Please contact Stephen Lane at (252) 808-2808 ext 213 if you have any questions or concerns
Sincerely,
Doug Huggetff
