This is not a big deal, David. I don't see that my comments will have any impact on what has already happened or is
continuing to happen. You and Kevin have been on this, and I trust what you are doing. So, I don't see that I need to
comment here, unless you need anything from me (Kevin??). Just let me know.

Subject: William Scherer Permit Issuance
Andrea,
The application is not on hold. Submittal of the application was part of the requested remedial response to the Corps'
issued notification of UA in March in order to account after -the -fact for impacts. In order to keep the property owner
from having the perception of additional administrative 'wiggle -room' in his efforts to stabilize the site & clean-up the
streams, I issued the after -the -fact verification quickly after receipt of the culvert removal/restoration design plans.
Attached is the after -the -authorization I issued yesterday, a full hard copy is headed your way.
I apologize for not informing you about the approach of putting issuance of the verification on a short fuse. It has been a
chore within its self on this project to keep Mr. Scherer moving forward at a conventional pace for the tasks he has been
directed to conduct. Most issued deadlines have been meet with an 11th hour request for extension. All the while we
have watched an enormous volume of exposed soils & sediment run down into the streams entering into the top of the
Little River system since late February.
Not keeping WRC in the loop on this information is my fault. Please call me if you need any additional details.
David
