Dear Mr. Harris,
This correspondence is in reference to your letter dated May 25, 2017, for Jacktown Mitigation Site,
located in McDoweli County, ivorth Caroiina. This 450 iinear foot site was being utilized by the North
Carolina Department of Transportafion as cumpensatoiy mitigation for stream impacts associa[ed witi�
projed B-?191.

requirement for TIP No. 6-4191 has been met.
As discussed at ihe site closeoui meeting, Jacktown creek has 275 linear feet potentially avaiiable for
future mitigation. A�proximately 30 feet r,f bank erosion was observed on two outside oends at
closeout that had beer� monitored �vith bank pirs (pi� one �S", pin two near,y flash�. These areas will be
monitored with photas as well as three bank pins (a third to be added at the lower left bend� during
stewardship visits. The Jacktown Creek mitigation site should be re-evaluated for stability prior to use
for future mitigation.
