Thank you again for meeting with Linda and me this afternoon to discuss the Tryon Equestrian Park. As
requested, below is a summary of our discussion:
• There is a meeting next Tuesday, May 23 with DWR, the Corps and Tryon representatives to discuss
both our Request for Additional Information and the Corps Request for Additional Information.
o Tryon will need to provide adequate responses to both letters.
• DEQ has asked for additional information re the hotel/RV park/parking/barn area.
o DEQ will not be requesting Tryon to remove and relocate the already built RV park, but DEQ does
need additional information to support the preferred layout.
o Ultimately, the Corps determines which alternative.
• DEQ has asked for additional information re the layout of the polo field and concessions.
o DEQ will discuss possible alternatives in more detail at the meeting on Tuesday.
o Ultimately, the Corps determines which alternative.
• Tryon will need to provide a complete mitigation plan.
o If providing permittee -responsible mitigation, a complete mitigation plan needs to be provided
and approved as part of the 401 certification/404 permit. This can take time to develop and the
applicant is "on the hook" for providing successful mitigation, including the 7 years of
monitoring.
o If purchasing credits from a mitigation bank or DMS, that needs to be clearly identified in the
application.
• Tryon will need to describe how stormwater will be managed for the project.
