Dear Ms. Steenhuis,
Per our conversation late last week, I am writing to you as the design engineer for the Surf City
W.W.T.F. Improvements Effluent Forcemain & Infiltration Basin, to acknowledge and confirm that
anti-seep collars will be incorporated into the construction of the Forcemain.
Specifically, anti-seep collars conforming to the NCDENR standard detail WQC #3374 will be
constructed on the forcemain when the forcemain travels through more than 150-L.F. of wetland.
The collars will be installed at point of intersection of the forcemain and the most down-gradient
limit of the wetland. Additionally, collars will be installed at 150-L.F. increments through the
crossing. According to the wetland delineation, there are five crossing locations that will require
collars. These crossings are at stations:
254+00 to 259+50
325+00 to 326+75
368+25 to 369+75
378+50 to 380+25
423+50 to 426+50
Lastly, your office will be provided with a copy of the record drawings for the project confirming
the installation of the anti-seep collars.
We appreciate your assistance with this project to date, and look forward to issuance of the
wetland permit. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
