Mark,
Under our current NPDES permit (NC00339586) we are permitted to discharge 0.05 MGD from sanitary
wastewater treatment plant (Outfall 002) via combined Outfall 006. We would like to request the current
NPDES permit be modified as follows:
Part I
1. Section A(2): Reduce Monthly Flow Average in the Effluent Limitations column from 0.05 MGD to
0.025 MGD.

Do me a favor and send me an e-mail with a detailed description of what you want modified in the
Harris permit. I just need it for the permit file. I'm still investigating the ash pond issues at Cape Fear.

The Cape Fear Plant would like to amend their NPDES permit application such that the west ash
pond (outfall 001) would receive ash sluice water. The west ash pond could receive ash sluice
from the boilers or from the east ash pond (through dredging). The characteristics of the ash for
the west ash pond should be the same as the east ash pond. CF Plant would also need the ability
to do dry stacking in both ponds.
