Subject:RE: 2016 Division's 1-8 Meeting Minutes
Hi Jason,
A couple additional notes for the Division 1-8 meeting. Thanks for putting these notes together. Have a great weekend!
Ginny
Division 1
Northwest Fork Alligator River B-4647 (20110427) – DWR (Garcy, not NCDCM) requested DOT verify that the plan sheet
in the report shows the correct mitigation area as his version on file is different than the 2016 monitoring report.
Division 2
Grimesland B-3684 (20080356) – There was some discussion on the change to the enhancement area which just
completed the first year of monitoring and is located where the bridge was removed. DWR (Garcy) said he had observed
vehicle tracks recently on the south side of the river in the buffer enhancement area.
Banks School Road Wetland R-2719A (20080314) – DWR (Ginny) asked if baseline data had been collected in the
enhancement area. Byron said that this site had been a package deal that included different assets.
Division 3
Bishop Branch R-2633A (20100867) - DWR (Ginny) asked about bankful events and whether 2003 stream guidance was
used for this project. DOT said the permit did not require bankful. DWR has since checked the approval and there is no
mention of either 2003 guidance or bankful requirements.
Piney Green Road U-3810 (20110931) – DWR(Ginny) requested an asset map that delineates marsh and forested
riparian wetland assets be overlaid on an aerial in the 2017 monitoring report.
Division 4
A site visit will be planned for all the Goldsboro sites.
1
DOT discussed Claridge nursery and that bids for repairs under HWY 70 (non-mitigation area) were to be done and hope
to start work this summer.
DWR #20080570
UT to Little River Site 7 R-2554A – DOT said no profile monitoring was done due to heavy vegetation and the bankful
elevation has increased due to heavy sandy sediment inputs. Rob said he was impressed with how well the site had done
considering he had been skeptical during the planning stages and was pleasantly surprised.
Benton Site R-2554C – The site has had some issues with aggradation. Maps have been updated in the plan. The back
side was signed. Supplemental planting – riparian livestakes and cypress (lower section).
Daniel’s Street U-3826 (20090134) – Daniel’s street will be monitored for 7 years. DOT verified that the wells were all
recapped in March 2016.
Division 5
UT to Reedy Branch R-2635C (20071470) – DOT said that XS were added to the monitoring although not required. DWR
(Ginny) requested a planting plan and aerial will be added to the 2017 monitoring report and commented that the site
looked much more stable then prior to repairs.
