7. BACKFILL CULVERTS AND ROUGH GRADE ROAD CROSSING.
8. STABILIZE DISTURBED SLOPES AT INLET AND OUTLET OF PERMANENT CULVERTS WITH PERMANENT SEEDING AND TEMPORARY

Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience. The two box culverts have been redesigned with one primary 6'Hx4'W
culvert for the base flow of the 4' wide stream, and one 4'Hx6'W culvert elevated to bank flow for larger storm events.
Cross sections have been included for the box culverts in sheet C07.24, including the amount the primary culvert will be
buried, and the length of the culverts.
Please see the attached drawings detailing these changes. Additionally, the construction sequence has been added to
map C-6.

Elias,
I have reviewed the PCN application for Northwest Cary Middle School. The PCN states that the stream is 4' wide and
the two culverts that are used are 5'H x 6'W (sheet C07.24). Could you please provide details on how the physical
integrity of the stream will be maintained above and below the culvert? Since two box culverts will be installed, the
stream should only flow through one box culvert during normal flow conditions and through the other box culvert above
bankfull conditions. The proposed floodplain benches should be installed to restore natural materials for bench stability. A
construction sequence and detail should be provided to ensure the contractor is clear on construction of these benches.
