Attached, please find the Cover Letter, PCN, Plan view, Channel profile and Channel
cross-section for the proposed stabilization of Bridge 165, mile marker 35, along I-95 in
Robeson County. As discussed, Division 6 proposes to stabilize the north end bent and
channel invert to eliminate the scour critical condition. The permit request is for a
Nationwide Permit #14, which will authorize the construction of an access road (0.06
acre wetlands) and 0.16 acre of Surface Water impacts. The WBS # 15006.1078253
should be charged the appropriate permit fee.
Being this is an emergency project along a critical transportation corridor, the NCDOT
has to quickly act to avoid a very bad situation. A pre-bid meeting is being scheduled for
May 15 to discuss the project details and review permit requirement. Actual
construction will take place the first week in June (after the Memorial Day Holiday).
