This email will serve as the formal invitation to the Northshore Road EIS
interagency field meeting to be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 19th at the
western edge of the study area The meeting location will be at the end of the paved
road that runs across Fontana Dam, also the trailhead of Shuckstack and Lakeshore
Trails Please find attached to this email a map showing the meeting location (PDF
format) Directions are located at the bottom of this email
Meeting time will be 9:00 am sharp and participants are asked to provide their own
lunch and water We will be hiking most of the day so please come prepared The
purpose of this meeting is to inform you of the completion, processes, and
preliminary results of the natural resources field work An information packet will
be provided at the meeting. During the meeting we will review several
representative sites including streams, wetlands, and special aquatic sites will be
visited during this meeting
We have a large number of people planning to participate in the field meeting from
various state and federal natural resource and regulatory agencies and a lot we
would like to cover in a short amount of time If at all possible please limit the
number of people present per agency to those who need to be there Please RSVP
as soon as possible so we can be prepared to handle the number of people involved

Northshore Road interagency field meeting to discuss co
For those who are not familiar with this area, take hwy 74 west from Bryson City
and turn right onto NC 28 west towards Fontana Village. Follow signs to Fontana
Dam (it will be approximately 35 minutes from when you turn onto 28) Drive past
the Fontana Dam Visitor Center, across the dam and turn right at the split in the
road Follow this road until the pavement ends at GSMNP If additional parking is
necessary we may park at the overflow parking and walk to the meeting spot
