We would like to request your attendance at the next North Shore Road Interagency Update
Meeting to review and discuss current project information The meeting will be held on
Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 1 00 p in at the Renaissance Asheville in the Ball Room (Salon
C) The address is One Thomas Wolfe Plaza, Asheville, North Carolina
As you are aware the National Park Service (NPS) and the Federal Highway Administration
(FHWA) are preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the North Shore Road Project
in western North Carolina The study is currently in the Impact Analysis Phase of the EIS planning
process and it is anticipated that the Draft EIS (DEIS), with an Agency preferred alternative, will be
available to the public later in 2005 The interagency meeting will include a formal presentation
followed by a roundtable discussion to review and collect comments on the Impact Analysis Phase
of the project We will present information on all the final study alternatives and provide a
summary of the associated impacts
