Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Desi n/Future: Year: Existin : 5400 Year: 2016 General Project Narrative: The purpose of the project is to replace Bridge No. 453 on SR 1141 over Beaver Creek Tributary in Cumberland County. The existing roadway washed out at the location during (Description of Minimization of Water Hurricane Matthew. The existing pipe (112" X 75" Aluminum Pipe Arch) was 83 feet long (based on best available information). The replacement structure will be a 1@ 40',1 Quality Impacts) @ 55' - 21" Cored Slab Bridge. The roadway grade along the new structure will be approximately the same as the existing prior to the road washing out. The grade of the road had to be raised slightly to keep the roadway sag off the approach slab. To keep from widening the bridge, deck drains are required in order to decrease bridge spread but they will outlet outside of surtace waters. The stormwater that bypasses the deck drains will be captured in a drop inlet at the end of the bridge and outleted into a roadside ditch. At approximatley Station 16+10 Lt., a pipe will outlet just outside of the wetlands with non-errosive velocities. A turbidity curtain will be used at the bridge during construction to help control the dispersion of floating turbidity in the water by allowing the sediment in the water time to settle. Existing drainage patterns will be maintained to the fullest extent possible. Class II rip rap will be used on the banks inside the bridge to help stablilize the banks.
