I responded to a citizen complaint regarding sediment in a stream that flows right by her home (about 5 feet from her
basement, of which floods on occassion). I walked the catchment and stream and observed a scant amount of sediment
in stream, but is difficult to know if it was legacy or recent deposits. DOT just recently began clearing operations in this
area. EC measures were in place.

Comment: A complaint from Janet Younq was called into the office concerninq sediment in the stream that flows next
to her home. I investiqated the site and determined that there was a small portion of sediment in stream.
It is possible that the source was related to recent tree clearinq activies or from around a house that was
moved some time aqo, within the catchment, upstream of Ms. Younq's home, but it was difficult to know
for sure. I met with the contractor and DOT inspector Dale Brown to review EC measures. All measures
had recentiv been installed with some additional work that needed to be done. Hvdroseedinq was in
process in manv areas. I made some suqqestions to beef-up a sediment basin near Site 1 and 2 within
the catchment of Ms. Younq's home. Ms. Younq seemed satisfied that DOT was doinq all that was
required.
