We don't have a problem with this Since it is existing and there was no restoration
proposed there, it wouldn't affect the permitted impacts for this pro�ect Thanks,

We request permission to leave in part of the bridge abutment as shown in attached
pictures The stream banks on this side of the creek are nearly vertical and very
high from normal water elevation They actually seem to be manmade berms that
extend a couple hundred feet in both directions By removing this abutment
completely and grading to a slope we can successfully vegetate we will be creating
an opening in the stream bank that would create the potential for a back eddie
which could cause significant erosion This is a permit that was handled out of
Raliegh and best I can read permit does not address removal of this old bridge
abutment It is �ust in the waters edge and maybe a couple feet below OHWM really
more of a buffer issue What are your thoughts
