As long as the additional riprap is completely within the permitted footprint for
both 401 and Buffer approval then I certainly have no issues with it Sounds good
to me

Clearing activities are currently underway for B-3705 The project proposes 36"
drilled piers with 42" permanent caissons In preparation for construction of the
new bridge, the locations of the drilled piers were staked for observation
purposes It is apparent that these piers with caissons will be very near both
edges of the East and West stream banks We are therefore concerned about long
term stability of the stream banks and anticipate rip rap armoring may be
necessary at these locations (see attached drawing) In preparation for the
potential need for additional rip rap we are requesting your approval We do not
anticipate additional stream impacts at these locations The rip rap would be only
on the stream banks (not in the stream channel) and completely within the
previously permitted footprint Therefore we are not requesting a permit
modification, but would like your responses on this before we move forward
