The roads will provide access to the 68 lots and common areas in the residential development from Weaver Camp Road (SR 1333). The proposed construction will require the filling a total of 0.495 acre of jurisdictional riparian wetland, including 0.028 acre of coastal wetland, and 9,917 square feet of Tar-Pamlico riparian buffer at 16 different locations in the road right-of-way. These wetlands are abutting Trent Creek, Swindell Bay, and the Bay River. One 4-slip community pier is also proposed for the development. The proposed construction will have no impacts on jurisdictional stream channels. The applicant is also applying for a CAMA Major Permit through the Washington DENR office. The proposed construction will have no effect on the seven federally protected species known to have ranges extending into Pamlico County. Potential habitat for the seven species does not exist within the parcel boundaries. A Natural Heritage Program records review on May 7, 2008 indicated one occurrence of Kemp's ridley sea turtle in the Bay River within 3.0 miles of the property. This project will have no effect on Kemp's ridley sea turtle. Please comment on the attached permit application at your earliest convenience.
