Dear Ms. Karoly:
We recently completed construction of the dock which your office authorized in
reference (b). We have abided by your direction in reference (a) which denied our
application to construct a bulkhead at our property. However, your denial has placed our
shoreline at risk. I understand that Jason Rivera of Lakesides, Inc has spoken to you
about the conditions on our lot.
Lake Royale is a very busy recreational lake. Our property sits on a point of land about
midway between the extremes of the lake. As such, we see and feel a significant amount
of waterborne traffic. At times there is a constant wake being generated by the
powerboats and jet skis that frequent the area.
We have only owned the property for a little over a year but we cannot help but notice the
erosion that is taking place. As one faces the lake, there is, on the very left side of the
property, the remains of a large tree that felled into the water due to erosion. On the very
point of land, about three feet into the lake is the remains of another smaller tree. But
what is most critical now is a very large, perhaps fifty foot high pin oak, that sits about
fifteen feet from the new dock. Peering over the edge of the land one can see the erosion
that, if not arrested, will most certainly fell this tree also.

I am asking you and your office to review the situation one more time. As my wife and I
are located in West Virginia I would ask that we arrange a mutually acceptable date in the
near future for an on site visit. Or, perhaps Mr. Rivera has agreed to accompany you as
my representative.
