Subject Property: Sidney Jones Single Family Residence
REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Jones:
On July 7, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your Pre-Construction
Notification (PCN) application to impact approximately 0.013 acres of wetlands and install
additional bulk heading to construct a single family residence. The DWQ has determined that
your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below.
The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact
protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the
additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application
as required by 15A NCAC 2H.0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we
receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may
continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
Through correspondence with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, it has come to our
attention that some of the proposed bulkhead has already been installed on the site
leading to additional impacts not proposed in the application. Please provide a revised
total area and linear footage of impacts to be authorized under a 401 Water Quality
Certification.
2. This Office believes that the house footprint shown on the submitted plans can be moved
or reconfigured to avoid and minimize the impacts to the wetlands on the project site.
The previous owner of this parcel was issued a CAMA Minor Development Permit and
did not require any wetland impacts. Please revise the plans to avoid or minimize the
impacts.
