We visited the site today with Jerry. Crews were removing the last of the sand bags. The site appeared to be in satisfactory condition and NPDES paperwork was in order. On Monday night, that area received approximately 0.5 inches in a very short time frame. All the devices are installed and we're functioning. It appears in this area (upstream wing wall, left side facing upstream) however, the stormwater undermined the silt fence and the 57-stone and went LTNDER the bank armoring. You can see the deposit in the attached pictures. The contractor and DOT inspectors are meeting this morning to determine the best approach to removing the sediment and 57 stone. More than likely, it will include the use of sheet piling and sand bags to cordone that area off and pump the water out so the crew can get in there. As you will recall, due to the beaver activity downstream, the water level at this location remains consistently high so we are not able to determine if the sediment continues further below the rip rap against this bank. I understand that Dave Wanucha will be visiting this site this morning as we1L I will keep everyone posted on the progress of the cleanup. I will also send pictures during and after the cleanup activities are completed. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or if further information is required.
