Scott,
I re -reviewed your responses and have a few follow up questions/items.
• With regard to the construction sequence for cleanout of the basin, you referenced notes on sheet C4.1. These
notes indicate that the baffles and the skimmer should be removed but it should also include a note that it must
be completely cleaned out and meet the design volume and shape shown on the plans. Can you add that to the
notes please?
• With regards to the short circuiting question, maybe I'm reading the plans incorrectly but I don't see how you
are calculating 170' of travel way from structure S9 to the existing riser? Can you draw out the flow path for me
to show that please.
Regarding the side slopes. I checked with the stormwater unit in Raleigh. The MDC (which is a state rule) for all
SCMs says that side slopes "shall be 2:1" and the Figure 2 in the design manual (which is just guidance) for Wet
Ponds is an error. The MDC for all SCMs states that "steeper vegetated slopes may be considered on a case -by-
case basis if the applicant demonstrates that the soils and vegetation shall remain stable" Please provide a
justification/demonstration for an exception to this requirement. Please note that previous decisions and
actions may not suffice as justification/demonstration for relaxation of requirements.
