The impacts for this crossing and another crossing were previously approved and one of the crossings has already been constructed. However, in order to provide access for maintenance vehicles, the width of the trail was increased from 6 feet to 8-feet and the bridge was increased to 1o-feet instead of 6-feet. A copy of the Buffer Approvals is included with the attachment. No wetlands or stream channels will be impacted by the proposed project. The proposed project is located south of the intersection of Walnut Street (SR 1313) and East Maynard Road (SR 1415) in Cary, North Carolina. The bridge crossing is located at the terminus of Greenwood Circle and is indicated on the attached USGS Quadrangle and Soil Survey Maps. The project is located in the Neuse River Basin and contains and un-named Tributary to Lynn Branch. In order to avoid impacts to the stream channel, the applicant proposes a foot-bridge that will be installed above the ordinary high water mark. Greenway trails are an allowable activity within the buffer, therefore no mitigation is proposed for this project. Please feel free to call if you have questions or require additional information.
